Did you like it?

Here we leave you with Rebecca and Tomer's wedding, a video of a Jewish wedding in Barcelona that we filmed before the arrival of winter.

Rebecca and Tomer met in Barcelona, fell in love and very soon it was clear to them that they wanted to get married and start a life together. Tomer is Israeli and Rebecca is Venezuelan, both from Jewish families, so their wedding was celebrated according to the Jewish rite

The wedding took place at the luxurious Fairmont Rey Juan Carlos Hotel in Barcelona with guests coming from all over the world. Both families hit it off immediately and created a very joyful and festive atmosphere that lasted until the early hours of the morning.

The traditional Jewish ceremony

It is customary at Jewish weddings, just before the ceremony, for the father of the bride and groom to meet and sign a symbolic pre-marriage contract with the approval of the rabbi. The religious ceremony, held in a blessed room in the same hotel and officiated by the Rabbi and David Libersohn, was very emotional. Both for us and for the photographer Andreu Doz, it was our first Jewish wedding video in Barcelona, so we really enjoyed filming it and discovering the customs of Jewish marriages.

A spectacular party

The self-service catering, previously blessed by the Rabbi, did not last long, as the guests' eagerness to celebrate was palpable and they soon began to dance. After the traditional dance of the bride with her father, there was no lack of the well-known dances where the bride and groom, seated in their chairs, were lifted up and shaken.

As Spain is the meeting point for the couple, they wanted to pay homage to their traditions and hired a flamenco group with a cantaora and bailaora (flamenco dancer) who entertained the evening and made the guests dance. Shortly after, the "hora loca " began, a Venezuelan wedding tradition in which guests dress up in fancy hats and caps. In Barcelona there is a company called "gorros locos" where you can find this kind of accessories.
