#NORULESWEDDING

Wedding editorial

A wedding that breaks with norms and protocols

Did you like it?

Your wedding, your rules.

We really wanted to show you the wedding editorial that we organised this summer with the photographer Juanjo Vega and the wedding planner Bendito lío, in the beautiful textile factory Colònia Rusiñol.

#noruleswedding is a wedding editorial that breaks with protocols, rules and conventions. Weddings have changed and so have wedding videos. Bring out your craziest "ME", relax, be fluid and don't be afraid to break the rules.

At your wedding it is important that you are yourselves and that your celebration represents you as a couple. If something doesn't suit you or you think it doesn't suit you, don't feel obliged to jump through hoops just because someone tells you it has to be that way.

Are all brides princesses?

There are many brides who have always dreamed of dressing up as princesses on their wedding day and many others who prefer to stay true to their everyday style and not feel dressed up. A day is a day, there aren't many occasions where you can leave the house dressed in a cancan or a ballgown...

We don't know which of the options from Otaduy 's collection we like the most... the truth is that Tanya looks stunning in all of them. If we had to choose, we'd go for the fringed jacket that gives her such a tremendous touch! All her spectacular accessories are by designer Martina Dorta, her sunglasses by Mark O'day and her shoes by Jimmy Choo.

Brenda's Tocador and Laura Aragón hairstyle were in charge of the hair and make-up.

We reclaim the role of the groom at weddings!

Little is said about the groom's style, we take it for granted that the groom has to wear a suit jacket, waistcoat, sash or even tails and if it can be in dark tones, so much the better. It seems that the idea is that he should not draw too much attention to himself, in order to leave all the attention to the bride...

When can I take off my jacket at a wedding?

According to protocol, you should never take off your jacket at the wedding, not even during lunch or dinner. There are other slightly more flexible currents that say you can take it off when you sit down. If you are a guest, you should never take it off before the groom.

The truth is that it's not very comfortable to say the least and even less so during summer weddings. Besides, who says you have to wear a suit or dress shoes? Alejandro chose comfortable espadrilles and although he wore his jacket during the ceremony, he took it off as soon as he had the chance.

Your favourite food on your wedding day?

Let's not kid ourselves, burger and pizza are on trend. From being known as the queens of fast-food, they have become the food of the moment.

The burguers are the instagram influencers, the stars of the cheat meal, the foodporn par excellence, but... from there to being the stars of the wedding banquet?

It is true that mini-burgers are usually served as snacks, but imagine a station where they serve burgers cooked on the spot, a foodtruck for a snack or, why not, a burger as a main course - always with vegan options, of course!

To avoid accidents, it would be a good idea to put some bibs or a few bottles of zebralin on the tables.....

The Guiri Chef prepared some juicy charcoal cooked burguers for the whole team. They were spectacular, as you can see on the faces of Tanya and Alejandro. The presidential table at the ahrental event equipment rental was decorated according to the occasion by the florist Flors Beltrán.

Protocol yes or no?

It is true that protocol at events is important to maintain a certain order and logic, but there are some rules that are a bit outdated and that you don't have to follow if they don't suit you.

Wedding etiquette goes far beyond certain dress codes, it also tells us how to behave, and not only the bride and groom, but also their guests.
A wedding has to be an event among family and friends, without impostures, where everyone feels comfortable. #noruleswedding is a wedding editorial that defends weddings like this, natural and unique, like each of you.

What if we do NOT exchange rings?

The ceremony is perhaps one of the most symbolic and traditional moments of the whole wedding. One of the most widespread is the exchange of rings. Do you know where the tradition comes from?

Its origins date back to Roman times and it was Catholicism that finally established it. In the beginning it was only the brides who received it, because it represented that they were their husband's property.

Fortunately, thanks to the feminist movements of the last century, this tradition came to be understood as we understand it today, as representing the union and marital agreement between equals.

There are new options that are starting to gain popularity instead of exchanging rings, such as couples getting tattoos on the day of the wedding, or simply exchanging vows at the time of the ceremony.

Panic at the time of the dance?

The moment of dancing, being the centre of attention and demonstrating rhythmic skills after a few drinks, is no easy task. Especially for those couples who are particularly good dancers.

Here are a few tips for successfully getting through the bride and groom's ball, one of the most awaited moments of the wedding.

It is true that the waltz has taken a back seat in recent years, and few couples have decided to continue with this tradition of medieval origin. Dancing to a slow song is the best option for not complicating your life and making it look like you know what you're doing.

If you want to put on a great show, you can always go to dance classes or hire a professional to make a personalised choreography for you.

If you don't want to be the centre of attention, encourage your friends to do a joint choreography. Another option is to ask other couples to come out on the dance floor and dance at the same time as you.

And if you don't want to dance at all, think of options that help people move onto the dance floor. For example with a conga or an improvised limbo.

Enjoy your wedding to the fullest

Our final and most important piece of advice is to take time to enjoy the wedding and your guests. Flow and don't be on the lookout for everything to be perfect. Sometimes things don't go as planned, but that's okay!

Think that on that day you will have a team of professionals who will take care of everything, so that you don't have to. Your wedding day will go by very quickly so try to leave your worries aside and enjoy this moment to the fullest.
